Quality Assurance Technician

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As the quality assurance technician, you will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and work with the Quality Assurance Inspector to support production and sales to meet quality objectives and goals of the company in accordance with ISO9001 standards. Responsibilities of the position include inspecting raw materials, reviewing work orders, performing random quality audits, submitting paperwork for approval of new parts, conducting capability and gage studies, and other company-related quality assurance tests.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect and measure new or revised tools/programs and parts using Coordinated Measuring Machines (CMMs)
- Carry out in-process inspections and logging results in Statistical Process Control (SPC) software
- Perform material tests using laboratory equipment (i.e. Instron, environmental chamber, etc.)
- Maintain die/tool database
- Calibrate gages and maintain quality files
- Assist Quality Assurance Manager with Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs)
- Create, update, and maintain certifications and other documents as required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum one-year experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in quality assurance)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Mechanical blueprint reading
- Technical knowledge of foam/flexible materials
- Epicor ERP system
- Instron (programming/testing materials (tensile, compression, etc.)
- Custom fabrication environment
- Possess strong math skills, including statistics
- Positive attitude, detail-oriented, communication skills, and willingness to learn
